George Springer contributed to the Houston Astros winning the championship in the 2017 season.
Canada's MLB team reached their maiden World Series following 1993 by beating the Seattle Mariners in the final game seven of the American League Championship Series.
Behind three runs to one, Springer delivered a three-run homer in the seventh, guiding the Toronto squad in the majors to a 4-3 win in the seven-game series. Awaiting them are the defending champions, the team that is the current crown, in the forthcoming championship.
"It's incredible for our team, our city, our country," Springer stated, a key player of the Houston Astros team that won the 2017 title. "It's truly an amazing experience."
George Springer has now hit twenty-three post-season home runs, ranking him third on the list after Ramirez (29) and Jose Altuve (27).
"There's probably not another person on planet Earth that I'd choose in that spot other than him with his playoff prowess," noted manager John Schneider.
Seattle's team, despite leading the series two games to none and three games to two, are still the one club yet to make an appearance in a World Series.
Wilson commented "certainly that it's going to sting" following his team's loss at their home ballpark, but commended their work in the campaign.
"It's a special team. Unfortunately that we had to come out on the unsuccessful side of this game," he continued.
Toronto's team secured the World Series on each of their earlier trips in 1992 and 1993, and will welcome the Dodgers in game one on the upcoming Friday.
