Devoted followers of the pop star are calling for that a person who leaped a barricade and seized the performer during the recent Wicked: For Good launch be detained or removed from Singapore.
A widely shared footage reveals the Australian man shoving aside camera operators and charging at Grande while the performers walked down a yellow carpet accompanied by supporters.
Fellow actress Cynthia Erivo promptly pulled the shocked performer away from Mr Wen, who was spotted being escorted out of the event by guards.
Mr Wen posted on Instagram recently that he was "free after being taken in", though legal records indicated that he was due to attend court on the next day. It is not clear if he was charged.
This is part of a pattern for Mr Wen, who calls himself a "Notorious Troublemaker", has disrupted a performance. His Instagram profile includes videos of him disrupting other celebrity events, including rushing the platform at the artist's Sydney concert in earlier this year and in a comparable manner during The Chainsmokers concert in the area last year.
"Steps should be implemented applied against him as this is evidently a criminal offence," commented an Instagram user, in a reply to a video Mr Wen posted of his act.
"Oh wow so you do this a lot... how aren't you in jail?" a different Instagram user wrote.
Many supporters criticized Mr Wen for "triggering past anxiety" Grande, who had spoken of dealing with PTSD after a terrorist explosion at the end of her May 2017 show in Manchester, resulting in the death of 22 people and harming many.
"The star has endured numerous terrifying experiences... including the Manchester tragedy, and you believed breaching security was amusing?" wrote one more response on Instagram.
A number of supporters also questioned security officers at the Thursday event for not being sufficiently alert; while different individuals called for digital services to remove Mr Wen's videos.
In clips spreading on the internet, Grande looked surprised when she was touched by the intruder. Her fellow actors Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be seen consoling her while Mr Wen was led out by staff.
Grande has remained silent on the event, and the rest of the event continued without further issues.
Many of fans had gathered in a mass of colorful attire at the Wicked: For Good regional premiere in a Singapore mall, including some who had waited for as long as many hours before it began.
The motion picture, to be released on the 21st of November, is the second of a two-film version of the well-known stage production Wicked, which centers on the unexpected relationship between two very different characters.
The musical itself is a spin-off of the classic story The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
Grande, who acts as the benevolent sorceress Glinda, was adorned in a light pink sequin dress at the premiere while Erivo, who acts as the wicked witch, wore a sleek black dress featuring roses.
They were accompanied by cast member Jeff Goldblum.
The initial film, Wicked, was the top-earning motion picture of last year in the UK, and received ten award recognitions, earning two for best costume and artistic direction.
