In the extremely competitive realm of interactive entertainment, it's common for fresh competitors to fade away as quickly as they explode onto the scene.
Yet this new installment is hoping to shift that dynamic.
This is the newest release in a long-running combat FPS series commonly described as a more authentic answer to Call of Duty.
The franchise has seldom managed to match its best-known rival in regards of revenue or user base, but there are signs the recent entry could reduce the distance.
A preview event enabling players a chance to experience the title earlier this year broke records, and the excitement heading into its launch has been massive.
But the endeavor is still a significant gamble for developer Electronic Arts, which has allegedly invested huge sums of money developing it.
Reporters have talked to a number of the developers to learn how they aim it will be profitable.
Several teams have been creating the title under the unified development initiative.
Among them are original series developer Dice, based in Scandinavia, LA's Motive developers and the Canadian studio in North America.
The fourth, the UK studio, is located in England.
Rebecka Coutaz is the executive of the two European developers, and shares with our team that, in terms of what it's providing players, "this new game is likely unmatched."
The game arrives after the heels of the advanced Battlefield 2042, published four years ago to a poor reception it had difficulty to overcome.
"It's likely that we would find it impossible to build and design the latest entry absent the lessons we had in the last release," the manager shares with the press.
Among those lessons was to get fans participating soon, and the team initiated exclusive fan testing sessions not long ago.
This "feedback was extremely positive," states the manager.
Another missing component from the last game was a story mode, which has been restored in this version.
The UK studio design director the design director is the person responsible for "ensuring those stages are as enjoyable and interesting as can be for the audience."
Regardless of claims that the scale of the project had challenged the different developers collaborating across continents to build the game, Fas is positive about the endeavor.
"Working with varied cultures, different backgrounds, it's a very fascinating atmosphere to be part of every day," he explains.
"The complete approach has been something new but something really thrilling because we are collaborating with people from around the globe."
Concerning the anticipation on the crew, the director says: "We experience pressure but at the same time it's exciting.
"This is a major project. It's likely the biggest that many of us have previously participated in."
